Planning Commission Requirements 

  • Commission consists of 5 members, 3 within Village limits, maximum of 2 may reside outside the Village limits but within one-mile jurisdiction Chairman Secretary 3 recommending members 1 alternate member 
  • Appointed and approved by the Village of Manley Board 
  • Appointed initially for a 1 year term then either one, two or three year term decided by Village Board 
  • Cannot hold any other municipal office 
  • Non-paying position 
  • Must hold one Planning Commission meeting per calendar year 
  • Meetings outside of yearly meeting are requested by the zoning administrator 
  • Meetings are conducted following the Open Meetings Act 
  • Requests, holds and conducts public meetings 
  • Makes final reports and recommendations to the Village Board based on the principals of the Comprehensive Plan 
  • Is a review and recommendation body only
